Lending and borrowing are fundamental aspects of any thriving economy, even under a sound money standard like Bitcoin. From an Austrian perspective, voluntary lending arises naturally from individual time preferences and the desire to allocate resources efficiently. I would imagine as you get further up the adoption curve and NGU begins to normalize/become irrelevant, a true/honest interest rate will emerge and lending will become common place.
