We knew she was BSing us because her story literally changed every time we asked.

It was pretty nasty stuff, as I recall. She was absolutely desperate to not be charged with a crime she often passed harsh judgements on in her courtrooms.

I was a community reporter, not a hard news reporter, so covering it wasn't fun. But it sure opened my eyes to some things.
