Western framing would be that this child was simply protecting their home and had no affiliation with any military and I'd agree. I find it horrible that children need to take arms, or that there are situations in which they're forced to.
However, if a Palestinian child had a rifle or gun, they'd immediately be deemed a child soldier with no further explanation or research, and their deaths would be justified.
The case for “muslim warlords” (a phrase that has only been used in the context of a specific Chinese family) is nowhere to be found, at least not in this conflict.
A child dying is wrong and bad, no matter what side. Glorifying or justifying that fact, as well as the involvement of children at all, is wrong.
