Fun fact, chemical sunscreens were grandfathered into the Generally Regarded As Safe (GRAS) government list of Approved™ chemicals.
No safety studies were performed. "Oh, it existed before the 70s? Good to go!"
In 2021, Oxybenzone was removed from the GRAS list.
Oh, and they renamed "Generally Regarded As Safe" to "Generally Regarded As Safe and Effective", lmao
