Between five and ten percent of people in this parish – and a higher proportion of school-age children – are legally homeless, which is to say, living illegally in huts, caravans, old motor vehicles, or tents.

That number includes me, of course. There's no way I could afford any legal housing in my home parish.

What rural Scotland needs is full communism now.
