Interesting to remember, it’s not so much that the politicians are bad speech writers, they’re not writing them, more they’re directing a team which writes the speech. It’s either an intentional choice to make speeches this way or it’s a maladaptive response to the situation, perhaps just writing in committee. Dunno. I miss a good political speech.
