It's a highly charitable Indian religion. Almost always vegetarian, known for feeding the poor and the signature kirpan they carry. They have a similar thing to Judaism where they want their own ethno-religious state and the religion formed around a strong sense of tribalism due to brutal prosecution by Hindus and Muslims. (If you remember the Indian government assassinating people in Canada, they were assassinating Sikh political leaders. It's a huge deal.) Because it's a modern religion formed by gurus the general vibe is a bit less magical and a bit more moralistic and practical than other religions, with the religious gurus being not divine and rather normal humans with enlightened souls. A very common Sikh belief is that all religions are some version of the perennial truth of God, but Sikhism is similar in Hinduism in that through meditation, prayer, hymns and good deeds you can become one with God. Karma and reincarnation are considered part of the religion, but Sikhs try to avoid metaphysical study or debate, focusing on practice instead. It's rather progressive compared to a lot of religions, seeing women as equals with the same type of soul and being opposed to all the insane shit that happens in Islam like women wearing veils or fgm or female infanticide or birth or menstruation dirtying the home etc. This is from my experience a really big deal to Sikhs, one of the main personal drivers behind their strong belief is a reaction to how Islam treats women.

This is about all I know, it's hard to research but I've known lots of local Sikh's who have taught me a lot about the religion.
