I’m back in Amsterdam for the weekend, and things are not okay here. I’ve seen cops stop and frisk random people, cop cars with omnidirectional cameras proactively surveilling streets, and even deputized cops patrolling the streets who didn’t complete police training — so they “just” have batons but no guns.
