For the original topic, the problem with any microcontroller, even the most powerful Arduino Mega, etc. is the max draw for the whole board. These boards are only designed to send/receive control signals, not to power things. Look up max draw for any of these boards, you will see it's miniscule! So, you end up with complex designs mostly because of power switching.",
