i've tried to get into DnD before but it was hard for me to keep up. my creative process is incredibly slow: methodical tinkering is necessary for me to produce something even remotely coherent, and then that remotely-coherent something has to be reworked to become digestible. so of course i have always been in awe of people who can improvise on the fly. this, plus my initial agreeing-to-participate morphing into a social obligation, leads to some anxiety about the whole thing.
