There is nothing productive about a pair of shoes that costed 1.8 million dollars but that’s just my opinion.

It’s all a matter of perspective and interpretation. In my opinion, your view of human nature is very low. I don’t think humans need to be policed and restricted from doing things they want to do. And people that think like this often believe that they know what’s best for others. Put another way, you are superior to them because you know what’s best for them. Maybe you do know what’s best for them in some ways but not others. And it’s not your right to tell them how to live. Do you believe in free will? I think people learn from their mistakes and make good decisions most of the time. I think some people will make mistakes because that’s also part of human nature and it is inevitable. Some might repeat the mistakes for a long time. That is sometimes necessary to learn. Humans aren’t perfect. Creating laws based on violence to prevent these things has not prevented them from happening. People still find ways to do the things that you don’t like. And I think it’s more evil and harmful to society to have some kind of centralized power stealing money through violence and coercion under the guise of taxation in order to force people to live an arbitrary lifestyle. If an adult knows that heroin is bad for them and still wants to do it, why stop them? What gives you the right? If someone wants to kill himself, who are you to stop him? He is completely capable of making his own decisions and living with the consequences.
