Privacy Pro-tip: When signing up for an account, give the site or company the absolute least amount of information that they require in order to provide the service you're requesting, and no more.

Usually this is an ID and password. Everything else will be used to market and data mine you. Those fields should be left blank, or worst-case, filled with garbage data.

That this is a "pro-tip", and not just stupidly obvious is commentary on the poor state of user education.
