This is true. And- many of the native Taiwanese were driven out by the mainlanders. I had a friend back in the 90's whose father was one of them. We were working together on a crew and he ended up getting badly injured- multiple broken bones, including his spine. That day was the ONLY time I ever decided to not go up. We were in the process of attaching 'fake' (massive timber)corbels to a large eave overhang on a cliffside mega ski house- around 40' up in the sky.
