If you don’t want a girlfriend, follow this advice
Asking a girl for phone number is obsolete. You need to ask her for her public key. That's how she knows you are serious.
It can be signal qr code with verification, simplex invite code, but if you are more traditional, a PGP key is enough.
If she does not know what you are talking about or offers telegram or Instagram, keep looking for a better girl.
