My Sunday afternoon: spent 3 hours editing a 4-page letter to the editor of [prestigious scientific journal], considering edits/comments by 2 other co-authors, to accompany a 56-page response to 3 peer reviewers, for a revised manuscript that itself has 37 pages.
This is for step 2 of a peer-review process that will, at the very least, have a 3rd round. And that's if we're lucky, and any of this sees the light of day at some point the next 6-12 months.
