Been spending more time than I had hoped on implementing tabs.
I’m very close to having the essential features for tabs working.
One problem I’m facing is with empty tabs.
Just like you can open empty tabs in Chrome, I want the same to be possible in my notes app.
It is currently possible to open multiple empty tabs in the app. The problem is that it is impossible to select an empty tab in order to go to the tab. It seems like my application cannot distinguish between the empty tabs.
The empty tabs should each have a unique ID (if my code is working correctly), but it still does not work.
Closing an empty tab, will close the correct one – not all of the empty tabs. So I guess, the app can actually distinguish between the individual empty tabs, but clearly something is wrong since you cannot open one of the empty tabs…
It works perfectly fine with multiple tabs that are not empty (meaning the tabs each have a note).
Also, something else I need to decide is whether I want to allow opening multiple tabs of the same note. Currently, if selecting a note that is already opened, the app will switch to the existing tab with the note.
I don’t really think it makes sense to allow opening multiple tabs with the same note, instead users can open multiple windows.
