The thing about people like Tom Nichols is what did he do to stop the rise of fascism?
He's written some books and he's a professor.
But if I recall his demeanor on bird app all those years ago, he was very hostile to anyone who wasn't a "centrist" or a "conservative."
I don't know if this applies to Nichols. I don't really know much about him, but
Americans hate the left more than they hate fascism.
They don't want to confront that reality head on - that they prefer greed and fascism over being cool with people and working together to create something amazing that gives everyone a chance to succeed.
Americans don't want to admit that they don't believe that a rising tide lifts all boats, but that their lives are anchored by the people who are beneath them in the pecking order.
But now, some of these people are upset at the results of their acquiescence to authoritarianism.
