The main issue is relying on the architecture of a platform *designed to gatekeep*. Projects like /e/ are actively harmful to the end goal of freeing people from these silos.
Their approach of "trust us, we're the good guys" is counter productive and even dangerous (tbh, I would trust Google devops security more than /e/).
Also device fragmentation is a huge problem for security & quality, but they keep tooting the number of devices they "support".
