Made a couple half-pint jars of hand salve today. I'm playing around with different amounts of tallow per jar. The first batch had 25g of tallow and the texture was nice and smooth. Then, I made a batch with 40g of tallow and the texture was a bit coarse and grainy. However, the moisturizing ability was much better with the increased tallow so I'm staying around that amount.

The rest of the ingredients include equal parts of coconut oil, olive oil and beeswax. This recipe is scented with lemongrass essential oil. Another scent that I've tried is bergamot. That one blends really well with the light scent of tallow that remains in the salve.
