You're saying it's not art because the artist has to sell the rights or compromise on their work to make money.

This isn't something new nor exclusive to gaming. It doesn't stop being art just a shitty company holds the distribution rights hostage.

And I think arguing it isn't does a disservice to the goal of games being preserved and playable.
