Lets say you design a new firing mechanism for a gun and patent it
Your patent needs to include the designs on how to build it
Logically you would assume nintendo would need to provide the code for that mechanic so that another person could liscense and implement it
Then palworld could show their code and a judge could make a decision on if it is similar enough to constitute a patent violation
Sadly patent law has not caught up to software yet
