haha one of my old laptops (which i got from someone else, i always pay attention to compatibility before buying) has a WIFI card built in that's still not supported by Linux, out of the box, very likely will never be
there is an out-of-tree kernel module but it's super unreliable
this could be seen as a security feature i guess 😀
