My most recent song project involved recording the sound of me playing my beat up camping guitar (in retrospect this turned out to be full on Kurt Cobain style) then programming my own unique drum beat on Ableton, after which live hand percussion was recorded and added (my hands hitting drum heads with mics to capture the vibes), ...
...and here's the fun twist, took an old song from Frank Zappa and manually, painstakingly wrestled it out of its wildly eccentric time signature into a more accessible 4/4 time signature within my song, recaptured and repackaged for today's audience.
It is my hope that, at the very least, hearing this song might turn on new audiences to the deep, exotic catalog of Frank Zappa. His music deserves to be discovered by true music lovers.
