At least once a year the fees are around 2 or 3 sats per VB. At this point it is time to consolidate if you have a lot of small UTXOs. I try to avoid UTXOs smaller than 0.001BTC. And when I have to make small payments I prefer to use small UTXOs, to avoid dividing them even further.
