(This week I'm posting photos from an experiment in double exposures related to Hong Kong, the city I lived 6 years in until 2021. A friend who chose not to be named took photographs of architectural features in Hong Kong for me to use as textures with Emily, a native Hong Kong artists who agreed to model for this.)
From early trials, my biggest concern with using man made things, especially regular ones, as textures is that the regularity of the structures rarely map out right on the body of the model. During this project however I noted that it can work provided some alignment is thought of that might make it meaningful. Here, I love the crosshairs on Emily's face but also the step perspective effect of the building layers.
