One thing I notice about the discourse around the Palestine issue, is that once you strip away specific references to places and people, a lot of it is remarkably similar to the discourse around Ukraine, or Xinjiang. On the other side, you've got ethnic nationalists fighting to defend their homeland. On the one side a nuclear-armed imperial power, making historical claims over that homeland, and bleating about it's right to "self-defence", as it commits war crimes left, right, and centre.
