Well this is a(n over) simplified picture to illustrate the non-privacy people that google and meta (and others) are not giving away their services for free (as in beer) and to talk about the stuff you exchange for the services you use (your data). And that's the goal off this sentence: Have an entry point to talk about the whole topic.

So in my opinion this is fine.
Otherwise we have to add many words like 'might' or 'possibly' which would make it totaly uninterresting.
