I don't know when it happened, but it seems that big, franchise action movies have all but lost their luster for me.

The latest casualty: last night, I put the new Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes film on. After about 30 minutes I turned to my wife, said, "I'm bored." She agreed and we turned it off.

I thought it was merely relegated to comic book films, but I think there's been a larger, drastic shift in me.
