Vow

I will not disappear,
though tempted to hide.
I will wait, though
waiting may be torture.
I will accept
my flaws, my errors;
if they pain me, it is less
than the pain
they caused others.
I will cling
to the hope that no damage
is beyond repair.
And I will work to show
the kindness
which my own fears
took from me,
and robbed another, who
deserved it.
