An LP a day - for no other reason than I love my records - No.43
Kid Creole & The Coconuts. Tropical Gangsters
Sometimes criticised for being too mainstream & leaving the band's latinate influences behind, for me this remans a great latin-soul (dance) fusion, which still hints at Tito Puente & other greats of latin soul but adds something new.
Standout tracks:
Stool Pigeon - still a ProfDJ dance party classic;
You're a Wonderful Thing Baby - with its rolling rhythm, is just great.
