There's nothing for me as a lawyer quite like groaning under the load of pretrial filings to drive home the point that almost no lawsuits ever actually go to trial. So many fiddly little & big details! So much uncertainty! So many people to corral! So much angst about trying to anticipate and guide 7-13* unpredictable human beings to a just outcome!
* 13=6-12 jurors + 1 judge
