An estimated two thirds (although probably more) of humanity have HSV-1 and most don’t even know it as it remains a latent infection in neural ganglia. Good for them. Every time my immune system gets hit from stress or travelling, they wake up and go all lytic infection on me.

Cold sores are so uncomfortable I always end up researching why the hell we don’t have an actual cure for a virus over 100 million years old. It’s that damn pesky latent phase. We have to draw all of them out and kill them all. I don’t think there’s enough L-Lysine to do that…
