npub1g9lm9wzy9mllzux4ehxrj43ptng5w0nrcq3cea676fj3m7klt8tq0875lx (npub1g9l…75lx) to be clear, when I say massive increase I don't mean something like from 0% to 1% of reviews being LLM-generated, I mean a situation where quite possibly the majority of reviews would be LLM-generated. So of course scale matters. And I don't think this is fanciful. Lots of editors are reporting have to ask more than 10 potential reviewers before they find someone willing to do it. If they were compelled to do it because of the threat of not being able to publish, the chance that one of those 10 people who didn't feel they had the time or expertise to review the paper decides to just wing it with an LLM is going to be high.
