Usually it is that, especially with beeswax. But we carefully burned this candle at usually 5 hours, every single burn. That is why I said it was burning weird because we have been very attentive to burn lengths. Tunneling is maybe the only drawback of beeswax especially, because it will happen if time is not given for the candle wax to completely melt the wax pool out to the edge. Beeswax has a very high melting point, and burns clean, a long time. Our hurried society prevents many people from giving it the time it requires. The rule is 1 hour per inch in diameter; this one is 3”, so at 3 hours minimum.
