Does anyone else remember that thing in the late 1990s and early 2000s where there was some company who would take interviews of popular bands and artists of the time and release them as CDs, but labelled as if they were albums? They were seen in music shops but even more often in other business that just happened to also sell CDs. I presume the scam was to pass them off as albums and ride the hype? I was wondering: Did the scam work? Did they get sued? Was it the labels themself doing this?
