here here. There is no such thing as an acceptable ad! For those that want to say what about other media or supporting websites....I was also there when the web was taking off. The ad industry blew it and betrayed our trust. Heck they basically made whole new at the time features of the web basically ignored, disabled, or considered the next blight on humanity by abusing them so (pop ups, pop unders, auto play, etc etc)
