Americans who entered the adult health-insurance market (aka turned 25) after 2008, which is a LOT of people, don't necessarily remember the term "preexisting condition." It can be anything from a miscarriage to a sprained ankle to a bout of childhood cancer. It used to be that if you had one, you paid higher health insurance premiums and still might not get coverage for anything even vaguely connected to the condition.
It was an awful system that Obamacare eliminated. Don't let it come back.
