Hungary, 1970. To be fair, this could equally be in the western part Romania. This looks like a very typical evening of Hungarian folk music. The so-called 'dance house' (*táncház* in Hungarian) movement in Hungary began at about the time of this photo. It saw a revitalisation of Hungarian folk music through the playing of traditional folk music in small, more intimate gatherings, especially in people's homes.
