I am using #bookwyrm to rate and review books. There is a 5-star scale, but I noticed that I almost only give 4 stars (to books I like) or 5 stars (to books that transformed me). I think it is probably because I have a selection bias and I don't start books that I would not like, or if I do I never finish them.
But I feel like it is a bit unfortunate to reduce a 5-star scale to only its two highest ratings. Should I rescale my rating range? What meaning should I give to the 5-star rating scale?
