GM! “Great by choice” is one of the best business books of all time. In the first chapter they describe how the most successful CEOs don’t give a shit about conventional wisdom or their peers opinions. They do their own research by going to first hand sources of empirical data, and work from there with “fanatic discipline”. Their actions and strategies may seem crazy to the outside world who never research anything themselves, but instead blindly accept what they’re told and follow conventional wisdom which gives them average results.
