Ian Betteridge on Nostr: What's interesting about many of the reactions to this post is the many, many posts ...
What's interesting about many of the reactions to this post is the many, many posts about how great their mothers were at sewing, knitting etc. For my generation's mothers, not having to spend hours on what they saw as domestic drudgery was liberation. Similar for processed foods: meals in minutes meant that working class women didn't have to spend hours in the kitchen after work. Crafting was something that was forced on people by economic circumstance, not (largely) a lifestyle choice.
