My little flock of 3 hens are currently penned inside of a hoophouse for the winter. This keeps their run free of snow and it is easier to keep their food dry and their water unfrozen.
The downside is that with the chickens in there, the plants are covered with a thin layer of soil from their frequent dust baths. Oh well, I didn't have much growing in there this year anyway.
