example: the best poster on my site was a Christian Family Man - he commented on every post, watched every movie i reviewed and so on.
because of this i felt the pressure not to attack religion or family. i was being captured by the audience.
when i realized it i proceeded to ban religion and changed his avatar to the crucifix forcing him to leave the site.
i then started trashing religion and family as i always wanted to do.
could i have grown my site by pandering to people who were posting on it ? maybe. but it wouldn't have been MY site anymore - it would be THEIR site.
