One thing I still truly don't understand about donation centralizers is why not just give donations directly to projects you want or care about? You can even automate it like a bill these days. Why give any money to an org that gives it away?
The main thing an org like OpenSats (nprofile…uazd) should do is just promote Open source projects with a weekly "Top 10 Open Source Projects to help" and just link their funding page. Why centralize the funds and garner favor? You can take the fiat out of a pleb but, the mentality is much harder to break.

quoting nevent1q…gwv3The opensats decision committee has people on it who sell closed source products and people who come on nostr regularly to shill closed source projects. Even one person who has a well documented history of actively harassing open source devs.
We need to do better as a community if we really want open source to thrive. Start by starving the beast. Donate anywhere else if you care about open source. Ideally donate to a dev directly. You know what you use. Don't let someone else decide who gets your hard earned sats, give them to people who make software you use directly.
It seems like a small thing until you see yet another dev ready to hang it up because of an opensats denial.
