Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is apart of my life in some form or another. Whether that be from studying, taking herbs, practicing qi gong, or by administering cupping therapy to clients in my local area or in clinic at school.
I’ll discuss a bit about “🅲🆄🅿🅿🅸🅽🅶"
Cupping Therapy in TCM:
🔸 What’s the Word on Cupping:
• Rooted in TCM as a method to balance qi (energy flow) and eliminate stagnation.
• Practiced widely in China and other continents, including USA, Canada, Mexico.
🔸 Benefits in TCM:
• Promotes blood circulation to accelerate healing.
• Reduces pain and inflammation by addressing stagnation.
• Aims to restore the body’s natural energy balance (qi).
• Supports the immune system by detoxifying the body.
🔸 Historical Applications:
• Ancient Egyptians: Used as early as 1550 BCE for fever, pain, and inflammation (documented in the Ebers Papyrus).
• Ancient Greeks: Hippocrates advocated cupping for internal disease and musculoskeletal issues.
• Middle Eastern Cultures: Known as “Hijama,” used for cleansing the blood and improving overall health.
