I live on the coast of #Florida where #hurricane #Milton is supposed to hit, so I'm planning an #evacuation.
Remember that #evacuations don't have to be far, nor are they always necessary: I live far enough inland that I'm not in any of the evacuation zones (A through E), which means I am not at risk for the most dangerous part of the storm, which is the storm surge expected to happen along the western coast of the Florida peninsula. I've decided to try to go further inland anyway, so I'm calling up people in the cities East of here to see who has a place I can sleep Tuesday and Thursday nights.
Whether or not you are evacuating, if you live in Florida, make sure to bring in anything in the yard, put anything you can't bring in against the house, put up coverings on your windows if possible, pull down or trim loose branches that may become debris, get everything that isn't waterproof off the floor in case of puddles, and park your car in the garage or against the house facing south.
