We watched this young Kookaburra for a while, hoping for a shot with some exciting prey. It swooped down from this hunting spot a few times, but for the most part I think it got to eat mud and bark (as evidenced by the beak-tip decorations)
The young birds have entirely black beaks, and what would be black features on the adult's face are brown
Hopefully it had better luck later, without our audience
