If you are trying to eat clean, read labels of any condiments.
Even spice mixes may include added ingredients such as flavourings, colourings, sweeteners, seed/vegetable oils, flavour enhancers, rice flour or other starches, or preservatives.
Some on the carnivore diet use herbs and spices. Others don't.
I don't, as even the purest of them cause me to have digestive issues. Personally, I see all dried herbs and spices as concentrated plant foods, and so, whether pure or not, can be high in oxalates or other problematic compounds.
Could be something to look into if you're not doing as well as you'd hoped.
