14 years ago today, we were awakened at 5 am by the smoke detectors. We were able to flee the house in minutes (albeit barefooted & in pjs) & watched in horror from outside as the fire flashed over.

We were all safe (including our dog) because of the warning we got from the smoke detectors.

Please, take a moment today & check yours. Change their batteries. Make sure all are in working condition.
