Eight years ago, I was leading a huge team of paid staff and volunteers and handling the nitty-gritty of canvassing and phone banking. It was very tactical work.

These days, I’ve graduated to the operational level of electoral work, spending much more time at the computer with databases and such.

Maybe in eight years time I will have worked my way up to the strategic ranks.
